Singing can be a surprisingly simple way to improve a student’s health and emotional well-being. First, singing can benefit one from the lungs to the heart. Singing can sometimes help one sleep better – even help improve posture. As with other musical experiences, singing can also help reduce anger, depression and anxiety. Through singing instruction, we hope to not only teach a child how to sing, by assisting them through songs that inspire, but help them see the benefits that can come from it as well, such as: an increase in self-esteem, an increased feeling of well-being, and, eventually, how it can be used even as a social forum for sharing with others.
